Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama has said the county has received Sh26 million from the World Bank towards youth empowerment.
Nyagarama said his administration has employed over 1, 000 youth to the Early Childhood Development Education as one way of empowering youth.
"We have employed several youths into enforcement, health department, youth and ECDE, we have the youth at heart and we must deliver our mandate and promises,"said Nyagarama.
The county boss made the remarks during a youth summit in Nyamira on Friday last week.
The governor said the county further is to receive Sh2.6 billion from World Bank for infrastructure and many youth will benefit from the project.
"We are looking at every opportunity to include the youth in our government, we have followed the constitution even in tenders where 30 per cent of our tenders are given to youth, " said Nyagarama.
