The Kenya Women Premier League (WPL) is set to kick off on February 24 and 25 amid a raft of changes that is set to redefine the league for the better.
Contrary to the previous seasons where teams faced off in two zones, the new changes will see participants engage in a round robin arrangement where the team with maximum points will be declared the league winner. The teams will also take part in the newly established FKF Cup.
The 2018 season will see reigning champions Vihiga Queens tackle Eldoret Falcons at the Mumias Sports Complex on Saturday, February 24 while Kayole Starlets will host Makolanders at the Camp Toyoyo turf. Spedag will battle Gaspo at the Mbaraki Sports Club while Baringo Starlets will host Mathare at the Eldama Ravine Stadium.
On February 25, Kakamega Ladies will tackle Thika Queens at the Bukhungu Stadium with Wadadia squaring it out with Palos Ladies in Mumias. Mombasa Olympics will host Trans-Nzoia Ladies at the Bomu Stadium with Soccer Queens and Oserian competing in the weekend's fixture.
