Speaking at Kikuyu town during a workshop on devolution over the weekend, the chairman said that the persistent wrangles among leaders are not good for devolution.

He said there is need for leaders at the county level to work with each other and promote the living standards of Kenyans.

“The ongoing wrangles and tag of war among leaders in some counties across the country will hurt devolution,” said.

He called on county governors to take charge of their respective counties and ensure Kenyans have access to services.

The TA boss further asked county assemblies to formulate laws that will improve the lives of the people.

He said that county assemblies have a crucial role to play in terms of legislation at the county level.

Wamwangi also asked the central government to ensure county governments have enough resources so that people can access quality and efficient services.

On the issue of accountability, Wamwangi asked county leaders to ensure that funds given to them are used for its intended purpose.

“County leaders must account for the funds given to them by the national government,” he added.
