Wrangles have emerged within the Jubilee gubernatorial camp in Mombasa as Anania Mwaboza’s supports accuse Suleiman Shahbal’s team of sidelining them.

The two will be contesting for the Mombasa gubernatorial seat with Shahbal as governor and Mwaboza his running mate.

On Thursday, Mwaboza was called to a meeting organized by his insiders in Mombasa who accused him of not protecting their interests.

“Our team has not been recognized after all we fought for. What are you doing there if you cannot protect our interest?” Ali Mwatsahu, Mwaboza’s close ally asked.

The meeting almost turned stormy before it was calmed down by Senator aspirant Abdul salaam Kassim who eventually invited Mwaboza to address.

Mwaboza said that he sacrificed his ambition to become governor for the sake of unity. He therefore, urged his supports to be calm as their interests are well taken care of.

“I have heard your concerns. We are now one team.” Mwaboza said.

“Rest assured I am looking after your interests, just as we are both looking after the interests of all residents of Mombasa,” he added.

He said that they agreed to share power 50-50 and that they will each appoint 9 members to the interim office.
