Eight years since the end of the 2007/08 Post Election Violence IDPs in Ngwataniro in Yamumbi Eldoret are still in the same tents they settled in.

The tents are now old and tattered and as the camp Chairman Edward Kimani says, life there has been a nightmare with each day being a new experience.

"We survive here by God's grace. We look for manual works in the neighbouring farms where we earn Sh.100 per day. That work is not always available and most of us here have families," said Kimani yesterday said to journalists.

"We have been told to leave this place by 03/05/2015. We do not know what to do and where to go," said Kimani.

Kimani added that with the ongoing rains, life in the camp is even more unbearable with the aged and the infants losing their lives.

He also said that children, mostly born in the camp do not go to school due to heightened poverty.

The 300 people in the camp now cling on the hope that the 10B that the President ordered to be set aside for compensation will be released soon.
