Motorists along Thika – Matuu highway in Yatta have been warned against over speeding on the road.
This is after a pedestrian died on Sunday after he was knocked down by a speeding car at a blackspot near Kwa Makaa trading center.
Edward Changach, area police boss said the accident occurred at 9 pm and the man died while being taken to Matuu Level 4 hospital.
“The driver of the car surrendered to police after the incident,” said Changach.
The police boss said speeding drivers will not be allowed to operate on the road.
“Many accidents have been caused in the area due to over speeding. Drivers should drive at a recommended speed limit to avoid accidents. Police should arrest rogue drivers on the road,” he said.
