Yatta Constituency MP Francis Mwangangi has expressed his contentment with the speech given by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday during his speech of the current state of the Nation.
Speaking to the media after the President’s address in the Parliament buildings in Nairobi, Mwangangi termed the step by President Kenyatta on corruption as bold and one that has never been witnessed in the nation’s history.
“The President has taken a very bold step that has never been done in our country’s history. What we now want to see is the immediate implementation of his directives,” said Mwangangi.
Kenyatta in his speech has specifically warned the officials involved in the EACC report to leave their positions immediately to allow investigation.
The Yatta MP further applauded the president for declaring that he will not be supporting any person involved in corruption allegations despite their political parties.
In Machakos County one of the government officials mentioned in corruption and land frauds is Senator Johnston Muthama.
Mwangangi finally stated that the national government is currently lighting 80% of the country with electricity and he will step up to ensure his Constituency is not left out from benefiting from the same.
“As the government lights 80% of the country, Yatta is not left out since I will try my level best to ensure that Schools which still do not have electricity receive transformers before late,” added Mwangangi.
