Yatta MP Francis Mwangangi has said that the only way to ensure that the two third gender rule is achieved is by taking care of it after every general election.

Speaking in Katangi Catholic Church Yatta on Sunday Mwangangi said that scrapping the 47 Women Reprensentative seats and nominating them to Parliament-as National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi has proposed, is not the way to go.

"Instead of bothering ourselves so much and even fighting, I think we can just make law that will ensure that immediately after every general election we are able to nominate members and attain that gender rule in both the Parliament and the County Assemblies," said Mwangangi.

At the same time, Mwangangi has urged Ukambani leaders to put their differences a side and unite for the development of the area.

"As long as we are not united, we will never deliver the presidency in this region. United we win, divided we fall," said Mwangangi.

Kenya Constitution demands that there would be no more than two third of the same gender in any public appointments.
