Machakos County Deputy Governor has challenged parents within Yatta constituency to step up their efforts of educating their children through University and colleges in order to transform their lives in the future.
Maliti shared the sentiments as he presided over the 26th Graduation Ceremony-Baraka Technical College, Sofia in Yatta sub-county where 112 students in various disciplines graduated.
“The college, like many of this kind in the county, plays a vital role in equipping our young people with vocational and technical skills geared towards self-reliance. To this end, the Government of Machakos County under the leadership of H.E Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua plans to have technical and vocational training institutes across the county so that our people are equipped with the necessary skills to compete in the job market or to be self-employed. We shall also provide the necessary support to the existing institutes so that education standards are as expected,” said Maliti. He further said that to cater for more needy students, the administration shall from this financial year have a bigger bursary kitty.
“We are committed to ensuring that the transition rates at all levels of education are highest here in the county and that our people get the best education,” added Maliti. He congratulated the new graduates and wished them well in their future en devours.
