Police in Yatta are investigating the death of two people who were found murdered in separate areas in Kinyaata location, Yatta sub-county, Machakos county.
According to Yatta police boss Edward Kipsang, the first victim Sammy Musulu aged 90 years was found murdered on Tuesday morning and his body set ablaze by unknown people in Mavingau village, Kinyaata location.
Changach said the incident was reported by Mavingau sub-location subchief and police visited the crime scene and took the body.
The second victim Mary Mbithi muli a mentally challenged lady aged 36 years hailing from Kithendu village was found murdered and her body dumped along the banks of river Kithendu.
The officer disclosed that according to the mother of the deceased, the deceased had gone to fetch water from the river when she met her death.
Changach said that investigations on the deaths of the two people have begun and won't stop until the mystery is unveiled where he requested residents to co operate with the police and provide any helpful information.
The bodies were taken to Matuu median hospital mortuary for postmortem.
