Speaking in Machakos on Thursday during the Mashujaa Day celebrations which was presided over by President Kenyatta, the immediate former Vice President said that his party is still the strongest in the region even though Governor Mutua's Maendeleo Chapchap too is seeking to overturn the situation.

He further warned the rebels including Governor Mutua that they have betrayed the trust of the Ukambani people.

''Those who have betrayed the Wiper party should not be surprised if they fail to make it back in the next polls after the next elections," he said

The Cord co-principal also officially gave over the rebels to the president saying that they are now his property.

Some of the rebel leaders include Mwingi North lawmaker John Munuve, Joe Mutambu of Mwingi Central, Kilome's Regina Ndambuki, Kisoi Munyao of Mbooni constituency and Richard Makenga of Kaiti constituency.
