Bahati MP KImani Ngunjiri has hit out at Mombasa governor Hassan Joho over his stalemate with the government.
Joho has been involved in a war of words with the state over orders issued that he surrenders his gun.
He said that he will not surrender the gun and dared Coast Regional coordinator Nelson Marwa to for it.
Ngunjiri said that Joho is not above the law and should stop false bravado.
The former Nakuru Kanu chairman said the government has legal powers to licence and revoke guns and Joho should not think he is more powerful or Kenyan than anyone else.
"CORD politicians must not think that they are untouchable. They must respect and obey the law like all the other Kenyans," Ngunjiri said.
Joho has accused the state of a witch-hunt after his security was allegedly withdrawn and is blaming the circus of his political stand.
The state has however rubbished the governor’s version and urged him to stop politicizing the issue. Interior CS said the state is scaling down the number of bodyguards of all the VIPs.
