Garissa Parliamentary seat aspirant Farah Maalim has said that he has not time to engage his rival and incumbent MP Aden Duale in public outbursts.
According to Maalim, Duale talks too much yet he has done nothing to uplift the living standards of the locals.
Speaking in Garissa on Monday, Maalim said that he will not be responding to Duale’s alleged tantrums, saying he is focusing on sending the National Assembly Majority leader packing on August 8.
“Duale can say whatever he likes about me because I have much important things to do than to respond to his tantrums,” he said.
The former National Assembly deputy speaker claimed that Duale has not grown politically and that he does not deserve re-election.
He said that Duale has been spending much of his time fighting the opposition when locals are languishing in poverty, unemployment and insecurity.
“Duale should respect himself before opening his mouth to castigate others,” he added. Maalim stated that will make history by sending Duale packing.
Last week, Duale criticized Maalim's bid claiming that the former National Assembly Deputy speaker is old to be in politics.
Duale promised to send Maalim to political retirement.
He said that the county needs young and energetic leaders who will push development agenda forward.
The Garissa parliamentary seat will be among those to watch for in the forthcoming August 8 general election.
