Addressing a crowd of charged Jubilee supporters in Bula Waberi area, Duale said his rival was already suffering from pre-election fever and so should never create fairies to remain relevant.

“Farah has lost grip in Garissa politics and I want to assure him now that I will beat him by a very huge margin, my numbers don’t lie. I am now setting the stage for his political graveyard,” said Duale amid cheers from his supporters.

Duale further added that Maalim was just but a political broker who changes political affiliation 'like no man's business'.

Citing his development track record, the incumbent said his Garissa people had invested in his leadership and were not ready to vote in a looser.

"My people have invested in me and the more than 53,000 registered voters in Garissa Township are all my votes. He (Maalim) has no votes. May be his votes are in Lagdera. How can one rig his own votes? Garissa is a home of developments and never shall the trend be reversed," added Duale.

He also said he was confident that he will retain his present seat, adding that the people will vote for him again based on his performance record for the 10 years that he has represented them in parliament.
