Deputy President William Ruto's lawyer at the ICC is back!
Queen's Counsel lawyer Kharim Khan, who cut a name for his spirited fight for the Deputy President at the ICC,is back to give a progress report on a case in which he is helping the Talai and Kipsigis communities which have sued the British government for atrocities committed against them during the colonial period by forcefully evicting them from their ancestral homes.
While speaking at Kericho Teachers Training College, Lawyer Kharim Khan likened what the colonial administration did to the two communities in 1952 to what Hitler did to Jews in German.
He was alluding to the Nazi decision to hurdle Jews in concentration camps in places like Sabibor during the Second World War where millions were gassed to death.
He asked the British government to apologize to the two communities for what he termed as historical injustices.
The Talai community was targeted because of its association with the 'orgoik' or seers of Nandi who led the resistance against British rule.
They were displaced from their homes and placed in camps in Gwasi where life was unbearable for them.
