Youths across the country have been advised against migrating to urban centers in search of jobs.
Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Willy Bett has instead asked them to remain in rural areas and engage in agricultural activities.
According to the CS, agriculture has become a more profitable venture compared to some of the white color jobs available in the current market.
"Today if you have an acre piece land and make good use of it through farming, you can be sure that you'll earn more than a secretary at a top government official," Bett said in Eldoret, Sunday.
"It's for this reason that we want our youths to think of agriculture as a source of employment instead of having to travel to major towns looking for jobs which are hard to find," he added.
The Agriculture CS further challenged youths to take farming as a full-time job noting that it will help address the current joblessness in the country.
