Cord principals believe Jubilee government under the leadership of President Uhuru Kenyatta cannot win elections on fair grounds in 2017.
Led by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, they accused Jubilee of protecting the electoral body IEBC and vowed to push for its removal.
“I want to assure Kenyans that Uhuru cannot win an election under the fair grounds because he has no mandate," said Raila.
"He is hell bent in joining calls to have the compromised IEBC disbanded,” he said.
“As Cord, we have said that the commission must go and we mean it. They helped Jubilee in 2013 and it’s my challenge to President Kenyatta to face us in a fair contest," he said.
"He knows he can’t win and that’s why he is keen to protect this ailing coalition,” Raila added.
Kalonzo Musyoka on his part challenged Jubilee coalition to come to a round table and join the discussion on how to reconstitute IEBC to reflect the wishes of all sides contesting the 2017 elections.
“This IEBC is a dead body and time has come for Isaac Hassan to know he can’t cling to that office any longer. His team has been helping Jubilee and as opposition, we are fed up,"said Kalonzo.
"Jubilee cannot beat us that is why they are scared. It’s time for them to join us for a dialogue to discuss the best way forward,” he said.
Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula said Jubilee had failed to meet expectations of Kenyans and insisted that it will face hostility in its own strongholds.
“To start with, the economy of the nation has deteriorated substantially and that is why we are seeing even leaders from traditional Jubilee strongholds complaining," said Wetangula.
"This is a sign that Jubilee is unpopular even in its regions. We are optimistic as Cord that we will win these elections because Jubilee is weakened,” he said.
