During the unveiling of the 15KM Kathiani -Kakuyuni -Kangundo road, Mutua said that his political foes are unsettled by his development agenda hence they are ever plotting his political fall.

According to Dr Mutua, they will not succeed as he continues to push for dignified lives for Machakos.

This is his second major road network project after the three months record time tarmac road.

The project was completed at a cost of Sh 150 million.

Speaking at Kakuyuni, Mutua said, “When they hear that I am doing polítics of development, they don’t sleep as they plot on how to bring me down. They will fail.”

Local MCA Winstone Kanui received Mutua’s Christmas gift and promised the governor re-election.

“The Governor is assured of our votes due to his track record. We will re-elect him again,” Kanui said.

“This road is my Christmas gift to the People of this área,” said Mutua.

On the county construction equipment, the governor said, “We have used the equipment to grade to motorable levels over 3,000 kms of earth roads in Machakos county, more than any other region in Kenya.”

Mutua concluded, “My politics are those of development and which have endeared me to many of my supporters. Unlike some leaders, I do not want to be the Lord of poor and struggling people. I want to be the humble leader of people who are living decent and dignified lives."
