Kisii County Education Board (KCEB) chairman Dr Henry Onderi has challenged Getare primary school board of management committee and parents to stop taking the law into their own hands by threatening to close the primary school over the new school head teacher who was transferred to the school recently.
Speaking to journalists on Friday in Kisii town, Onderi said Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has its role to play when giving transfers to some of the school teachers and nobody should go against.
This comes after Getare primary school BOM with the cooperation of parents protested over the new head teacher in the school and threatened to close the school claiming that the new headteacher is none performer according to where he was transferred from .
“The school is a government institution and no way parents and BOM can threaten to close government institution they need to respect the law,” said Onderi.
He also told BOM and parents to follow the right procedure if they want some changes instead of threatening to close the government institution something that is against the law.
Parents and BOM who protested want their former head teacher back to the school or they will transfer their children.
