Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire has dismissed claims that President Uhuru Kenyatta gave job to Chief Justice David Maraga, insisting that it was out of merit.

While wooing Nyamira voters on Tuesday, Kenyatta challenged Gusii community to re-elect him adding that despite losing in the region, he gave Maraga and Education CS Fred Matiangi top jobs.

“I know you voted the other side but I still remember you. I gave CJ to you and your minister {Matiangi} is also doing well,” he said while at Magwagwa.

But in a quick rejoinder on his Whatsap, Bosire accused the President of hiding his failures but quantifying them with top appointments.

“Maraga applied for a job and he was ranked best. It is not Kenyatta who gave him the job. Let him tell us what he has done to ailing coffee and tea sectors in our region,” said Bosire.

Maraga, who was appointed CJ last September, became the first Kisii to be head of Judiciary since independence.

President Kenyatta was on a one day tour to vote rich Nyamira County where he challenged opposition leaders to table their track record.
