[Photo: @NSSF_ke/Twitter]Central Organisation of Trade Union (Cotu) Secretary General Francis Atwoli has criticised the government, for allegedly disrespecting the Opposition leader. This is after former prime minister, Raila Odinga was snubbed during 54th Madaraka Day celebrations in Nyeri, Thursday.President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto did not acknowledge the National Super Alliance (Nasa) presidential candidate, during the event, eliciting mixed reactions.Atwoli expressed disappointment, saying Raila is a national leader who should be respected, regardless of Jubilee Party and Nasa's political differences."That was very disrespectful. How can you invite a national leader in a national event and fail to recognise him. The president did a very bad thing. Madaraka Day is a national event that we should use to unite, which Uhuru failed to do," said Atwoli, Friday. The outspoken trade unionist was speaking after issuing a Sh500,000 cheque on behalf of National Social Security Fund (NSSF) to Maasai Boy Education Centre in Namelok, Kajiado county.
