Addressing supporters during campaign tour of Garissa on Tuesday, Duale said that Maalim will not manage even 100 votes in the August polls.
The National Assembly leader of majority added that Maalim cannot match his performance and should forget about winning the seat.
He said that the Wiper party deputy leader failed to push for the interests of residents when he served as a deputy speaker in the National Assembly.
“I want to tell Maalim to quit the race because he does not have the numbers to win,” he said.
Duale accused Maalim of running smear campaigns instead of engaging residents on issues.
The MP further claimed that Maalim is a political sycophant who is depending on NASA leaders support to survive politically.
Duale asked residents not to be swayed by Maalim and other opposition leaders, saying the Raila Odinga led NASA does not have the interests of the country at heart.
Duale is facing stiff competition from Maalim who ha vowed to send him home.
The former deputy speaker is running on Wiper ticket and says he is the best bet for the seat.
Maalim accuses Duale of neglecting the residents and focusing his time on national politics.
