Muthama says that defectors have no authority to discuss Wiper party affairs.

He said that Wiper party does not belong to an individual but rather Kenyans.

The Machakos senator asked defectors to stop discussing wiper since they are no longer members.

“Those MPs do not belong to Wiper and they should stop discussing Wiper affairs in their rallies,” he said on Monday during a media briefing with journalists in Nairobi as quoted by the Standard Newspaper.

Muthama indicated that Wiper party is still studying the Political Parties Act saying that it would take disciplinary measures against defectors as provided for in the law.

On Sunday, four MPs who recently defected from Wiper to Jubilee called for dissolution of Wiper party.

The MPs, Francis Mwangangi (Yatta), Richard Makenga (Kaiti), Kisoi Munyao (Mbooni) and Joe Mutambu (MwingiCentral) said that they have heavily invested in the party and that the party should be dissolved since they are no longer members.

Speaking at a St Paul’s Catholic Church in Matuu, Yatta constituency, the MPs stated that they will push for dissolution of the Kalonzo-led party.

At the same time, the lawmakers accused Kalonzo of allegedly inciting Ukambani locals against the Jubilee government.

The MPs said that Kalonzo should work with the Jubilee government if he cares for Ukambani region.

There have been calls from a section of the Ukambani leaders for Kalonzo to ditch Cord and join Jubilee party ahead of the 2017 elections.
