The area chief of Chania, Gatundu North has given criminals in the region one week to surrender of face the full wrath of the government.
In a media briefing with journalists after holding a public baraza with the residents, the chief warned that criminals will not be given room to cause havoc.
The chief indicated that security strategies aimed and nailing and prosecuting criminals are in place.
“If you are a criminal and operating in Gatundu North and its environs, your days are numbered,” warned Wamuyu.
The chief asked residents to help the police with information that will help curb crime.
The chief noted that criminals have been causing havoc in the village and that they have received complaints on deteriorating security.
He said that they are banking on the Nyumba Kumi initiative to guarantee safety of residents.
He said locals have been sensitized and asked to embrace the Nyumba Kumi.
“My people are well versant with the Nyumba kumi initiative and if we strengthen such then we will be very fine in terms of security,” added the chief.
Meanwhile, the local administrator warned brewers of illicit brew saying they will not be tolerated.
He said that a special team had been created to monitor and report brewers of illicit alcohol for necessary action.
