According to Senator Chris Obure, the MCAs have failed their mandate of oversight since there are some allocations allocated for various projects but the real projects are not there on the ground.

Obure cautioned the MCAs to avoid being compromised by the executive.

“The MCAs should know their role since they are going to be accountable for the projects which were allocated some money but were never achieved,” Obure said.

“The work of the MCA is oversight and ask whenever things are astray, unfortunately, the MCAs are not doing their role," he added.

Obure added that he has been attending various funerals in the county where most MCAs do not attend by knowing that the residents will question them about the projects.

“Let the MCAs come out clear and tell residents what is going on since their role is doing oversight if it is the executive which has failed let it be known,” he said.

He also urged them not to be compromised in adopting the budget without knowing the benefits to the residents.
