Kisii county Women Rep Mary Otara has been accused of neglecting the people of Bonchari where she hails from.
According to the locals from Kisii South sub-county, Bonchari constituency, they supported Otara but since she took office nothing had been done by her office to benefit the people.
She has been accused of mismanaging funds and neglecting Bonchari that gave here full support during the 2013 elections.
"Mary Otara is from Bonchari, can someone confirm here that she disbursed any money to any group in here if yes how much and to how many members, since she gave Sh450,000 to a group of 1,450 members in Nyaribari Masaba," said Nyang'ute Nyabwanga.
"As Bonchari we are no longer interested in the seat of Women Rep. and Otara should expect no votes from Bonchari since she has done nothing to change the lives of locals," said Eric Mokogoti.
Eric added that Bonchari has not benefited from the Affirmative funds and this clearly shows how Otara has neglected her people despite the support they gave her in 2013.
"Bonchari voted for Mary Otara in good faith during the 2013 elections. We thought we were electing our own only to turn against us. She has not initiated any project in the constituency. We are waiting for her to come in 2017 to seek for votes from us. We will not vote if she will be the only candidate for the seat," said Jane Machoni.
