Nyagarama has been active in the party with only months to the 2017 elections despite having shown an interest in working closely with Jubilee government in his early days as Governor.

Speaking in his Bokeira home turf, Geni accused Nyagarama of tolerating grand corruption in the county, adding that the tendering process in the county government was skewed.

“Nyagarama has failed Nyamira people and he can’t be allowed to hide in the ODM party. As a party, we are concerned with his style of management given that there is grand corruption and skewed tendering in the county,” he said.

“We can’t allow him to seek reelection in the name of being in ODM because he has failed us. We must rethink as a party because it’s a matter of standing with the party’s principles which he has reportedly violated,” he added.

But Governor Nyagarama has previously downplayed maladministration claims and bad governance accusing his critics of a witch-hunt.

He is expected to battle for ODM ticket with West Mugirango MP James Gesami.
