A section of Wiper Party Members of Parliament who defected to Jubilee Party has told Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka that he risks losing his political ground if he remains in the opposition coalition, Cord.
The MPs, who spoke at Mutituni in Machakos County said the future of the Kamba Community in the opposition is bleak, claiming that Kalonzo had lost all his political glory by working with the opposition.
Mwingi Central MP Joe Mutambu insisted that Jubilee is the only viable option if the interests of the region are to be taken care of.
On his part, Mbooni MP, Kisoi Munyao, said the former vice president stands a good chance of becoming the fifth president of Kenya if he abandons the Cord coalition.
“We want the Wiper party leader to come to the realization that the Cord coalition and particularly Raila Odinga is not keen to surrender his candidature to any other person,” said Munyao.
“The decision we will make as a community will determine whether the community will be in government or in the opposition come next year’s general election,” Munyao added.
Kalonzo has been battling to secure Cord’s ticket for next year’s presidential elections but the coalition’s co-principals Raila Odinga and Moses Wetangula are also eyeing the same position.
