Ford Kenya party leader and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has been asked to drop his presidential bid and instead support Musalia Mudavadi of Amani National Congress party.
According to Lugari Member of Parliament Ayub Savula, Mudavadi isn't better placed to take on President Kenyatta in the next general elections owing to the experience he has.
"When you compare Musalia and Wetang'ula, you see the senator has only served as a Minister, while Musalia has served as a minister and Vice President," Savula was quoted by the Star as saying.
The lawmaker added that Wetang'ula who is also a Cord co-principal does not have enough resources to campaign.
"Even if you compared the resources, Wetang'ula cannot stage a strong Presidential campaign. Mudavadi has the energy and resources and he has done it before in 2013," he added.
Wetang'ula has in the past maintained that he is the right man to unseat Mr Kenyatta and that his Cord co-principals should support him in 2017.
