The Ford-Kenya party leader and opposition's National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principal has been under pressure to exit his Senate Minority Leader post, with ODM going ahead to pass a motion to unseat him.

With the remaining Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) and Amani National Congress (ANC) member parties condemning the move and demanding for his retention, basing on his position as NASA co-chief, Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina is now terming the attempt as a futile one.

Ole Kina argues that the NASA coalition agreement does not, at any point, touch on the leadership in either the National Assembly or Senate, leaving Wetangula with no option.

''The NASA coalition agreement does not say anything about the leadership of the National Assembly or Senate,'' he tweeted on Monday.

Despite the push to have him replaced by his deputy and Siaya counterpart James Orengo, Wetangula has since stood his ground vowing to stay put.

''The conspiratorial process to unseat me has been on for some time now but I promise the ones seeking my downfall that it won't be easy,'' he said on Thursday when the motion was tabled in the house.
