Despite Garissa County Governor Nathif Jama having listed addressing the water menace in the county among his manifesto in 2013, the county residents have taken to social media to tell him how he has completely failed to deliver on his promises.

The residents have registered their disappointment in their governor saying that he is going about boasting of having solved the water issues in the area, yet the menace bites even more in his four-year reign.

"Deplorable state in Garissa County pastoralists. Mothers trek (with) big jerricans from long distances, school going girls dancing in the mud in quest of water and animals migrating to Wajir to look for water. This is disaster!'  Read one post on Facebook.

"Students of Hulugho Girls secondary school footing miles to access clean drinking water. Nathif downplays the water crisis in Garissa County and chest-thumping his administration spent millions of shillings to solve the water menace, but four years down the line the situation is worse than he found it. It's high time Garissa residents go beyond the tribal bonds and hold there leadership to account for misuse of public funds and abuse of office," reads yet another bitter post.
