South Mungirango MP Manson Nyamweya has blamed Kisii senator Chris Obure for imposing current Governor James Ongwae on the people during the 2013 elections.
The lawmaker, who has been a fierce critic of the governor, claims Obure knew Ongwae was not the right candidate for the job but persuaded people for vote him.
"Obure was going round telling us how Ongwae is good and now is rebuking him. We do not accept double speak and its time the two stop cheating the people of Kisii," he said in an interview at Egesa.
"He should not even dream of competing in the gubernatorial race because he is a failure too. We want honest politicians and Obure is not one of them," he added.
Nyamweya is set to challenge Ongwae and Obure in the August polls and has since ditched Orange Democratic Movement on fears that he will be shortchanged by Governor Ongwae in primaries.
