Speaking in Vihiga County during National Super Alliance (NASA) political rallies on Saturday, Khalwale said the leaders who joined Jubilee did so due to their own selfish interests.
“You must know that those who joined Jubilee did so not to serve your interests but theirs,” said the former senator.
Khalwale vied for the Kakamega County governorship post on a Ford Kenya ticket. He lost to Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya who retained the seat on an ODM party ticket.
Leaders who recently joined the Jubilee party in Western region are former Vihiga Governor Moses Akaranga, former Vihiga Member of Parliament (MP) Yusuf Chanzu, former Funyula MP Paul Nyongesa Otuoma and former Bungoma County governorship candidate Alfred Khang’ati among others.
Khalwlae claimed that Akaranga looted Vihiga County government coffers when he was the governor.
He claimed the former governor decided to join Jubilee to prevent being arrested and charged for corruption.
