President Uhuru Kenyatta has accused NASA leader Raila Odinga for being behind the collapse in fortunes of the struggling Mumias Sugar Company.
The president challenged Raila to pay back the debt he is said to owe the sugar miller so it can continue its operations smoothly.
Uhuru said that Raila owes the company millions of shillings in molases sales debts, something that has eventually come to haunt operations at the miller.
"NASA leaders should carry the blame for the financial constraints facing Mumias Sugar Company. Raila should be made aware that he owes the company some money and he must pay it," the President said.
He was speaking at the Bomani grounds in Mumias town on Saturday.
He also gave Sh500 million to the company to pay cane farmers.
