The governor noted that the current government has done little in the fight to curb this disaster following the invasion of Somalia by the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF).
He noted that the government is yet to establish masts destroyed in different areas.
“Over an year, masts have been brought down by these terror groups, but nothing much has been done to repair the network masts,” Roba said, as quoted by Star.
The remarks were reiterated by Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdullahi, who said that the government has to be careful to protect the region in order to avoid losing it to the milliti group.
“The continuous attacks that are happening are dangerous and if communication equipment can be destroyed by terror groups and no one minds, then it is my fear that we could be conceding and losing a part of the country to the terror group,” he said.
The remarks of the two leaders come after increased incidents of terror attacks in the region.
