A Politician from Nyanza region has accused ODM party leader Raila Odinga of running his party like a stall.
Steve Mwanga, who hails from Ugenya, Siaya county, claimed Raila issues nomination certificates only to the highest bidders in his party despite them winning or losing during the primaries.
“When it comes to issues of certificates, ODM runs a kiosk. It’ a business the run. The certificates are given to the highest bidder. Ask all ODM MPs. Whether you win or lose, the highest bidder gets the certificate. People’s will isn’t respected in ODM,” Mwanga was quoted by a local daily.
Mwanga, who lost twice to the then Ugenya MP, now Siaya senator, James Orengo, alleged the Orange party leadership was rotten.
“Look at what is happening in Ugenya. Until now, no one knows who won and by what margin. ODM primaries are just chaotic and leadership rot starts from the top,” he said.
He further accused the National Super Alliance flag bearer of hindering him from getting government tenders between 2008 and 2012, when he was a Prime Minister.
