Embakassi MP Paul Ongili Owino aka Babu Owino is a man under fire.

The former Students Organisation of Nairobi University (SONU) chairman was over the weekend involved in another controversy that has attracted more critics than friends.

Owino is said to have insulted President Uhuru Kenyatta as "mtoto wa mbwa" (child of a dog) in the heat of the repeat presidential election set for October 26.

Here are some of the reactions that Kenyans posted:

"Babu Owino is suffering from delayed puberty. He's still in the web of hormonal imbalance and signs are disrespect to elders or one parents," said a critic, Ciru Wa Mum.

Another user, Kipchimba, said:

"Let me just remind Babu Owino that President Uhuru Kenyatta is the son of founding father."

"There is freedom of speech but Babu Owino referring to @UKenyatta as "mtoto wa mbwa" is disrespectful. Very reckless & unfortunate!" Rein Asamoh.

Kibuchi Mwai termed Owino a spoiled child who needs a serious beating.

"Babu Owino does not need to be arrested, he is a spoiled child. A spoiled child is given a thorough beating and sent to bed hungry," he said.

"Babu Owino has just proved being learned and being educated are miles apart. Moses Kuria is no longer alone in the gutter," said one Clive Wanguthi.

"Babu Owino ur are a disgrace to parliament and the Kenyan society at large. How can you compare a Kenyan leader with a dog?" one Godfrey Bashu.
