Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has told former Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo to stop telling lies about his sacking as head of police.
Murkomen told Kimaiyo to stop blaming politicians for his sacking but instead blame his incompetence.
"Kimaiyo says he wants to run for Senate because I sacked him as IG," Murkomen posted on his official Facebook page.
"Fair enough. Why can't he tell the nation why he was also sacked from Aiport 17 months later? Why can't he tell the nation why after his departure the security of the nation has improved under Boinnet? Verily verily I say unto you Elgeyo Marakwet County will not be under Sieke (siege). At least not under my watch!"
Kimaiyo and Murkomen have for the last two weeks traded jabs following the former's announcement that he would contest for the Elgeyo Marakwet Senatorial seat.
The former IG was sacked in December 2014 following a rise in insecurity incidents in the country with the most vivid one being the Westgate attack in which over 60 lives were lost.
In July however, he broke his silence and blamed some politicians for his woes.
He also said he lost his job for his tough stand on corruption at the force.
"Corruption in this government is high," he said.
"I am one man who stood firm aginst corruption in the police service and I always told traffic police officers not to take bribes."
"When I went to Kenya Airports Authority, I stopped corruption. But they said let this chairman (KAA) go because he does not take bribes. That is the reality of things today."
It is said he will challenge Murkomen on a Kanu ticket.
