Acting ODM Secretary General Dr Agnes Zani has dismissed Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya's defection to Jubilee saying that ODM remains popular in the region.
According to Dr Zani, Mvurya and his deputy failed to address the problems affecting the Coast region and are just looking for excuses to cover up their poor working record.
"The ODM party has not received official communication from Mrurya as is expected from its members," Dr Zani was quoted by the Star as saying.
She added that Kwale remains firmly in ODM as they believe that it's the only party which can fully address the challenges they are facing.
"This will be clearer at the ballot next year," Zani said in a press statement on Monday.
This comes barely two days after Mr Mvurya and her deputy Fatuma Achani announced they will support Jubilee in 2017.
