Wiper chairman David Musila has hit out at defectors who recently decamped from the party saying that they betrayed the Kamba community by decamping to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party.
Musila says that defectors will pay for their actions stating that they will not be re-elected in 2017 after they abandoned the party that saw them elected in 2013.
Musila said that locals are angry with defectors and are ready to kick them out in 2017.
“Ukambani people feel betrayed by the MPs who dumped Wiper and joined President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party,” said Musila during a rally at Kitui town on Monday.
The Kitui senator who is also Wiper Party chairman asked the defectors to show their allegiance to their new party and stop intruding into Wiper affairs.
Musila at the same time dismissed claims by the defectors that Ukambani region is no longer a Wiper stronghold.
He said that no party can take over Wiper’s popularity and domination in the Ukambani region.
Several Ukambani MPs recently ditched the Wiper and joined Jubilee Party.
The MPs are now on a campaign to woo Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka out of the opposition and have him work with President Kenyatta ahead of the 2017 elections.
