Ndhiwa MP, Agostino Neto has warned Water Cabinet Secretary, Eugene Wamalwa against vying for the 2017 gubernatorial seat.
Neto said that Wamalwa would lose terribly should he vie for Nairobi governor.
Speaking in Kapskwony on Thursday, Neto said Wamalwa should not accommodate thoughts that he would win the Nairobi County governor seat against the incumbent, Evans Kidero.
"I have a lot of respect for Wamalwa and he should not harbour plans that he would win the election. He is getting mixed up in succession politics and this would turn against him," said the Ndhiwa ODM legislator.
He added that the numbers were against him and warned him not to be used to split the Luhya votes in Nairobi which he claims are in CORD basket,advising Wamalwa to contest a seat in Trans Nzoia County.
"We know that the next governor of Nairobi will be from Cord and the numbers are in favour of Kidero. I would advise Wamalwa to contest for Trans Nzoia seat.He has a better chance of winning that as compared to Nairobi," Neto concluded.
