Former Gem lawmaker Jakoyo Midiwo has laughed at Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.
Speaking on AM Live Tuesday, the former Deputy Minority Whip in the National Assembly accused the DP and his allies of self-deceit, maintaining that he is nowhere near being the President of Kenya.
He claimed that Ruto lacks the numbers and has no sufficient support to propel him to the top post.
''Ruto should know that he cannot be the President of this country because he does not have the the votes. The government has performed dismally and he should not expect to be elected anyway,'' he said.
He noted that Kenyans will actually vote against him as punishment for the many graft sagas that have taken place under his joint leadership with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
''Kenyans will demonstrate their anger by ensuring that he goes home because of the Jubilee government's inability to counter graft. They will protest by sending him home and are likely to bring in a new leadership,'' added the former parliamentarian.
This comes at a time when a section of Ruto's allies have already endorsed him, terming him as the best for the post.
He has, however, called for calm, urging politicians to quit politicking and concentrate on service delivery.
