President Uhuru Kenyatta now claims the National Super Alliance (NASA) is only interested in a power-sharing deal popularly known as 'nusu mkate' government.
Addressing hundreds of supporters in Eldoret town, Thursday, Kenyatta said a recent move by the Raila Odinga-led opposition to issue several demands to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) was a calculated move to get into the government through the backdoor.
The president who was accompanied with his Deputy William Ruto however insisted that he will not form a Nusu Mkate government with NASA.
"Raila and his people don't want elections that's why they are all over telling IEBC that they are not ready for the repeat elections in the October 17. He is only interested in a nusu mkate (power sharing) government but I want to tell him that he won't get get even a slice of the bread," Kenyatta told his Eldoret supporters.
"Votes are with the people and so all he needs to do is allow Chebukati to do is work," he added.
The NASA coalition has already expressed objection to the October 17 date for the fresh Presidential elections claiming they were not consulted.
They have proposed the date to be pushed forward so as to allow for the various issues they have raised to be addressed by IEBC.
