Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has promised President Uhuru Kenyatta failure in his quest to drag Kenya out of the International Criminal Court (ICC) saying his move will not bear any fruits.
"The president is considering pulling out of the ICC, yes, he will try but he is not going to succeed because pulling out is a very stupid move to take," he told NTV's AM Live show.
The vocal senator insisted that the government was pumping resources campaigning for External Affairs CS Amina Mohamed to try and use the position of AU chair to rally other African countries to pull out of ICC.
"The amount of resources I have seen the government use to make Amina the AU Chair confirms my fear that the reason they are pushing for Amina to be the Chair is so that they can use that position to mobilize other African countries to move out of the ICC," he said.
He also warned the President to take note of the current trend of incumbent presidents being voted out across African countries saying it's reason enough to make him worry because Kenyans are tired of miss-rule.
