Waititu said that Kabogo was trying to intimidate him to stop his ambition for the Kiambu gubernatorial seat.

Speaking at Kiratina Village in Ruiru on Wednesday during the burial of the director of Githunguri ranching company John Waweru who was shot and killed by gunmen last week, Waititu said that he will not fear Kabogo tactics.

“I am ready to face off with Kabogo and let me tell him that I am not afraid of his malicious tactics,” said Waititu.

The Kabete MP said that Kabogo was determined to scuttle his gubernatorial ambitions.

“Kabogo should know that he has no powers to block my ambition for the Kiambu gubernatorial seat and should brace up to face me on the ballot come 2017,” he added.

Waititu said that he was confident that Kiambu people will elect him as their next governor.

“Kiambu people are tired with the dictatorial and arrogant leadership and Kabogo should know that this is his last term as governor,” said Waititu.

Waititu at the same time defended his academic qualifications saying they are genuine.

He accused Kabogo of maliciousness in a case he has filed at the High court questioning his academic qualifications.

“My academic papers are genuine and Kabogo should find other ways of blocking me from seeking the governor seat and stop questioning my academics,” he said.

Waititu said that he has a degree and that he is currently doing her masters at the Methodist University.

The Kabete MP urged Kiambu people to vote wisely in the coming general elections.

He said that it is time for the voters to elect leaders who will fight for their welfare.

The entry of Waititu into Kiambu politics and his interest in the county governor seat has made him rub shoulders with the current governor William Kabogo.

Kabogo last month filed a case at the High court claiming that Waititu has no academic qualifications to hold a public office.

Kabogo in the suit argued that Waititu has breached the Leadership Act.

On Tuesday however the High court gave Kabogo 10 days to prove that the academic qualifications held by Waititu are not genuine.
