Kiambu Gubernatorial hopeful Ferdinand Waititu has asked National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders not to expect any votes in Mt Kenya region.
Waititu says that speculations doing round that NASA will harvest votes in Mt Kenya are false and misleading.
Addressing supporters in Kiambu Town on Thursday, Waititu said that Mt Kenya is solidly behind President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election.
The Kiambu governor hopeful claimed that NASA has nothing to offer Kenyans and should not expect any votes in Mt Kenya and other regions across the country.
“NASA will not get any sympathy votes from Mt Kenya region as being claimed by some political analysts,” he said as quoted by the People Daily.
The Kabete MP accused some political analysts of misleading NASA leaders saying that the opposition has no numbers to unseat President Kenyatta.
Waititu said that Uhuru’s administration has championed development to deserve re-election.
“Jubilee government has achieved many projects that Raila and his friends failed to achieve while they served in government,” he said.
There have been murmurs that some regions in Mt Kenya feel frustrated by Jubilee administration and are ready to endorse NASA in the August 8 polls.
According to political analysts, NASA could harvest some votes in Meru and other lower eastern counties in the August 8 polls.
NASA leaders are claiming that they already have 10 Million guaranteed votes and exuded confidence of sending Jubilee government home on August 8.
