Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has cautioned bodaboda operators, hawkers and pedestrians in the city against actions that impede his move to beautify the city.
Sonko said that the county government was in a drive to improve the image of Nairobi in terms of scenic beauty by planting flowers and grass and added that nobody should be found stepping on these grounds.
In a notice he posted on his Facebook page, Sonko said that anyone found committing these acts would face dire consequences.
"Hawkers, Pedestrians, Boda Boda operators and motorists must stop littering, stepping or riding on the flowers. Nairobi City County Government takes this opportunity to warn anyone found stepping on the flowers that strict action measures including prosecution will be applied," he said.
"Road mapping ongoing along Uhuru Highway which is (an) advantage to motorists for easier flow of traffic in ensuring that accidents are reduced. Crosswalk markings and Zebra crossings are also being done for pedestrian(s) at the crossing points," he added.
