A 34-year old hotel owner in Kwawanyinge town in Kathiani location on committed suicide on Tuesday evening in his residential home after coming out of work.
Confirming the incident, Mitaboni area Chief Joseph Mumo Wambua stated that the man was reported to have left his wife working in their hotel when he excused himself in the evening.
“I have received unfortunate news that a resident has taken his own life by using a rope after he left his work place abruptly to his home,” said Wambua.
According to the chief nothing has been suspected yet as the cause of him committing suicide as even his wife was caught off guard.
“I have talked to the man’s wife and she is devastated and shocked because she says her husband was in perfect health and mood the whole time while they were working and she has no suggestion in mind what could have influenced his decision,” he added.
Mumo however called upon the residents not to resolve their fears and problems by taking their own lives but instead seek help from political, social and religious leaders.
The body of the deceased has been moved to Machakos Level-5 Hospital mortuary by police officers from Kathiani police station.
