The mortality rate is nowadays a challenge in our country which is really contrary to our nature.
This has been giving the elderly headache about the future generations. They consider those times when a mother could give birth to up to twenty children without any complications and they remained strong with their siblings too strong and healthy.
According to Leah K. who is a licensed traditional midwife who hails from Turbo Constituency in Uasin-Gishu County is that if we don't take care of this issue keenly, we are likely to experience generations where there is "no giving birth.
"The diet of nowadays and the time difference between one delivery to another is key in this," said Leah.
She says that once one gets the pregnancy, she needs to eat food that makes her strong in preparation for the "final day for that journey."
Also, the food that one eats after delivery should be adhered to keenly. Leah advises that one should take enough time after delivery of at least two years before the next.
She calls upon the young parents to be mindful of the future generations in order to give our origin its look.
"I would like our women leaders to advocate for this since they are mothers and understands what I am speaking about," added Leah.
She calls for immediate consideration of these concerns for the future generations to grow healthy and strong.
Leah also attributes the current numerous deadly diseases to the diet that has changed.
She has called for consideration of indigenous food for our safety.
