Kangonde location chief Sebastian Mang'ee has warned those people who have been stealing pigeon peas produce from farms.
Mang'ee warned that their days are numbered and won't escape the long arm of the law.
Speaking on Saturday in Kitangani area, chief Mang'ee said that he has received numerous complaints from residents who's pigeon peas produce has been disappearing from their shambas noting that the act should be curbed with immediate effect.
He asked the Nyumba Kumi initiative in the area to be vigilant and help in arresting pigeon peas thieves who have been stealing from people's farms.
He also requested the residents to work closely with community policing officers together with the Nyumba Kumi order to bring to book those found culpable.
The chief noted that these produce are stolen and later sold to unsuspecting customers in the market. He noted that he won't allow people to reap where they didn't sow at the expense of the sweat of poor hardworking farmers.
"Pigeon peas theft has been rampant and its shameful some people want to reap where they Neva sowed, if found they will be prosecuted," said Mang'ee.
